Hello and welcome.gerry-profile-pic

My name is Gerry O’Neill and I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist offering a confidential counselling service from professional talking therapy rooms in Whitchurch Road, Cardiff. Parking is easy and the practice is on a busy bus route.

Each appointment lasts for one full hour and usually I will see clients once a week or fortnightly. The number of sessions will vary, usually from six to twelve, although sometimes clients may need fewer appointments while others may need a little longer to feel the benefits from one to one counselling.

During the sessions we will work together to break down your problems into their separate parts – such as your thoughts, physical feelings and actions. We will then be able to help you work out how to change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours.

After working out what you can change, you can practise these in your daily life.

The eventual aim of therapy is to teach you to continually apply the skills you’ve learnt during treatment. This should help you manage your problems and stop them having a negative impact on your life – even after your course of treatment finishes.

My qualifications:
Post Graduate Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling
Post Graduate Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
